If you don’t have full hookups at an RV park, you may be asking, “How much does it cost to empty RV tanks?”
There are plenty of places to empty your RV tanks, and I’ll show you the most popular ones that are easy to get into so you can get rid of your waste easily.
The price to dump your RV tanks is anywhere from $0 to $35, depending on where you are trying to dump your tanks and in some cases, if you’re a registered user.
Strategy to Empty Your RV Tank for Free
If you’re out boondocking, you probably need to empty your tank pretty badly by the time you’re finished.
Why not book a night at an inexpensive RV park that allows you to empty your RV tanks for free if you stay there? That way, you’d pay for staying at the RV park, but you’d get a free tank dump. I know that you had to pay for the night at the park, but if it’s inexpensive, I’d rather get a night at a park than pay to dump my tanks at some spot.
Some RV Parks Make You Pay
Before going to any RV parks for the above strategy, make sure that you check with the RV park to see if they offer free waste dumps. There are some upscale RV resorts that charge for dumping your waste, but those are becoming fewer and farther between because people really hate that.
Best Paid Spots to Dump Your RV Waste
If you don’t want to hassle with an RV park, then these two options are the best to dump your RV waste without breaking the bank.
Love’s Travel Stop
Most Love’s Travel Stops have plenty of room for even the biggest rigs, but that isn’t always the case. Before you head to a Love’s Travel Stop to dump your waste, I’d recommend pulling up satellite view on Google maps or whatever other RV navigation you use.
When I checked the price on RV dump stations at Love’s, it was only $10 to dump your waste, so that’s not too bad, and you can get fuel and snacks while you’re there as well.
Flying J
Flying J is another great choice for stopping to refuel and dump your waste. Every Flying J I’ve ever seen has had more than enough room for all of the RVs you could want to pull into them.
You can dump your RV tanks there for $10, but you can get a discount on dumping your RV waste if you are a member.
Emptying RV Waste Tanks Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some frequently asked questions about emptying RV waste.
How often do RV tanks need to be emptied?
You can empty RV tanks as much as you’d like but keeping them full too long will make your RV stink. If your tank is really full, that also adds to the weight of your RV and can increase the fuel costs.
Can you dump your RV black tank at home?
In most places, you’re allowed to dump your RV black tank at home but keep in mind there could be local laws and rules about it. Always make sure to check.
RV Waste Dump Cost Conclusion
