If you’ve just bought an RV then you might be wondering, “How do you get rid of waste in an RV?”

I remembered when we first started out RVing, and I wasn’t sure how to get rid of the waste from the RV. We always stayed in RV parks, so we knew where we would dump our RV waste, but we didn’t know how to best dump our RV tanks.

Always use a designated dump site. Never dump RV waste on the ground as it will cause major environmental concerns.

Locating RV Dump Stations

Two of the easiest places to dump your RV waste are:

You do have to pay to dump your RV waste, but it isn’t that expensive.

If the place where you’re camping doesn’t have a dump station, you can look on a helpful dumpstation locater website. It may not have all of the locations, but it sure does have a lot of them.

Ask for Help

If you belong to a forum and know of someone that has traveled to your area before, don’t be afraid to ask for help. There are plenty of people that are more than happy to give tips and tricks around the local area.

I love befriending people that have gone to where I’m going so that I have an insider view on what I should do.

You can post something in an RV group and ask who has been to a certain location and link up with them. Just repay the favor in the future, and all is right in the world.
