Are you thinking about going camping and wondering, “Can RV AC run all day?”
Yes. You can run your RV AC all day—most of the time.
There are a few instances that this might not work out and I’ll help you try to avoid those and tell you what you can do about that.
Keeping Cool In Your RV
I don’t like being hot and sweaty, so I want to run the RV AC all of the time. My husband also likes it nice and cool, so at least we were on the same page. I was very happy about that.
If you only have one AC in your RV, it’s putting in a lot of weight. If you run it too much, it could freeze up and you will need to turn it off and let it thaw out before you can get it to cool down your RV again.
You might just want to turn it off for a little bit when you start to notice it sounds a little different than it did. If you notice it sounds a little raspy, or it isn’t cool as good as it was, that is a sign to let it have a rest.
This doesn’t always happen but sometimes it does so keep an eye out for it.
Keep in mind that depending on your hookup, you might not be able to run your RV AC at the same time as you do your microwave or other electric sucking devices. This is especially true if you’re hooked up to generator power, and your generator doesn’t have the ability to give you all the power you need.
