Even those of you that don’t want to go full time with RV living should still think about your comfort when you’re on your RV trips. Even a few nights without a good rest can make you feel out of sorts.
Yes. RV mattresses are usually shorter than regular mattresses. However, there are some exceptions to the rule.
RV Mattresses Versus Regular Mattresses
You’ll never hear an RV salesperson say this, but RV mattresses are generally the cheapest and lightest mattresses the manufacturer can manage.
Lighter mattresses make the overall weight of the RV lighter, and they’re less expensive, which cuts down on cost. While this might be great for the RV manufacturer, it’s not the best thing for your back or your sleep.
Another thing to keep in mind is that an RV queen mattress is not the same size as a regular queen mattress. It’s known as a short queen. If you want to replace your queen mattress, make sure you replace your RV’s queen mattress with a short queen mattress.

Getting the best RV mattress for your RV makes a big difference. If I could just tote my home mattress around everywhere that I sleep, I’d do that, but that’s not something that makes sense. However, if you’re in an RV, this is a place where you could put the same mattress from your home.
